so whats a champion?

MJYC

What’s involved in being a Manchester Young Jubilee Champion?

You can do as little and as much as you want, all we ask is that you share the knowledge that you have learned with regen.me.uk training and pass it on to other young people like yourselves.

Youth Participation

Young people are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to make sure your experiences and voices inform our strategic priorities, services and our wider policy and our work across Manchester

There is the opportunity to develop your champion experience.  We have many different champion roles within regen.me.uk and these are:

  • Helping to design and deliver campaigns that raise awareness about issues that matter to young people with SEND or linked with SEND
  •  Write blogs and create vlogs on our social media platforms to share your experience
  • Providing feedback about our services and publications to help us improve and shape MJYC
  • Supporting our recruitment by interviewing members of staff and volunteers
  • Raising awareness of certain topics that you are interested in and by sharing your personal experience with matters that could be SEND related
  • Organising, attending and representing MJYC at supporter events, takeover sessions at the Manchester Youth Zone sunday sessions, drop-ins and coffee mornings

  • share champion

All you need to do is share the knowledge that you have learnt during your training workshops with your peers, other young people in your community, and families

• media technology champion

Share what you have learnt online in fun videos and posts using the hashtag SENDlove

• green champion

• S.E.N.D champion

Attending drop-ins and having them in your school or college, sharing information about activities and services in your local area suited to your age.

• Wellbeing champion

Be a listening ear to your peers, and signpost to organisations that can help.

• Co-production champion

Collates and feedback on YP views on services, attend meetings and have your say in how things are run and could be changed for the better.

• Community reporting champion

Record your views of activities or services that you find in your day-to-day life and share with your fellow champions and regen.me.uk in your voice.
